The Bible says in Revelations 12:11  "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony".

We need to constantly remember the goodness of God and use our testimonies to lead others to Christ.

I have been a member of Centrepoint church now for one year. In this time, great things have happened in my life, I have been born again! One experience I want to share with you is about how my faith has flourished and how I have been blessed.

I have been ill for some time; my symptoms were severe headaches, loss of sight in one eye and numbness in one side of my face. I have seen many doctors and received many different treatments over a 6 month period. Eventually, I decided I needed to see a specialist. He sent me for a CT brain scan, and called me as soon as the results were received. He explained that I had a 2cm Neoplasm or Brain Tumour and it was positioned in a place which made it inoperable. The specialist took the liberty of organising a MRI the same day, he said he would do everything he could for me, but explained that there really was no hope, and that I should go home and put my affairs in order. I received this news while tightly holding onto my three year old daughter’s hand. My husband and my daughter were all I had on my mind.

My own family doctor rang me at 4:00 pm the same day and asked me to see him for the results. I went in with my husband and the doctor hugged me and said my husband should do the same. He said that as soon as he heard what was happening, he put his hand up to look after me. I found this all surreal. Only this morning I was fine, except for the headaches, but they were very manageable compared to this. The doctor sent us home and told us to contact him in the morning.

That evening I remember hugging the stuffing out of children and desperately trying to organise my life, so everything would be ok once I was gone. During that evening, I remember my faith being very strong. I prayed "Lord, you haven't found me after all these years, and given me life and purpose, to have it all taken away now!" The thought of eternal life was helping me get through this, reassuring me that I would be alright. However I still remained in turmoil at the thought of having to leave my loved ones behind.

That evening I went to bed and prayed. I asked the Lord to help me make sense of all of this, and what I was supposed to do now. I opened my bible and started to read Luke 5:12, where Jesus healed a man with leprosy. This man fell to the ground begging to be healed. "Lord!" he said "If you want to, you can make me well again!" Jesus reached out and touched the man. "I am willing" He said "Be healed." So I asked God this prayer as well, "Lord if you want to, you can make me well again, do you want to?"

After an excruciating wait, the specialist telephoned me with the results and he said "Maxine! You’re not going to die today!" I jumped for joy and praised the Lord. He said he cannot explain it, but the MRI has come back completely clear. The doctor cannot believe it and to this day cannot explain what happened. But I could!

This single day has changed my life forever. In one of the darkest days of my life, my faith was incredibly strong and vivid. Jesus led me to Luke chapter 5 and gave me a chance to have my life changed. Ps. Joel said to me "everyone was born for such a day as this". When I heard these words, I understood that I had to share this. I suddenly realised that healing through faith can happen to everyday people! I hope that you too will find great faith and hope in Jesus
